The forthcoming highly anticipated North American Tour of Sir Andras Schiff offers rich and imaginative programs centered around specific works by Johannes Brahms.  The relational aspects of Brahms' writing to the works of Bach, Mozart, Beethoven, Mendelssohn and Schumann inform the basis of this thoughtful two-program series. Reviewing the programs in London, The Independent enthused that this was "Programming at its most creative".

"An undisputed master of the German repertoire" (The New Yorker), Sir Andras Schiff has unfailingly distinguished himself as an inspiring musician throughout the course of an exceptional international career which spans over 40 years. He is known for his complete cycles of the major keyboard works of Bach, Haydn, Mozart, Beethoven, and Schubert, as well as for his wonderful creative programming.  Currently an ECM exclusive recording artist, he has to date more than 25 releases on this label.  Critically acclaimed as a pianist, conductor, pedagogue and lecturer,he continues to explore new and exciting revelations of the great masters of the keyboard. After his Beethoven Cycle, The New York Times summarized "..his interpretive approach eludes definition.  An Artful blend of intuition and analysis had gone into his preparation.  Yet the results are constantly surprising."

During his lifetime in the public eye he has garnered numerous awards and prizes.  He was bestowed a Knighthood for services to Music in the Queen's Birthday Honours List in 2014.  His conducting interests led to the creation of his own chamber orchestra in 1999, the Cappella Andrea Barca, which consists of international soloists and chamber musicians.  His last appearances in the United States were in the Fall of 2017 when he was conductor and soloist with the New York Philharmonic and the Chicago Symphony Orchestra.
