The Junction Trio — violinist Stefan Jackiw, pianist Conrad Tao, and cellist Jay Campbell — has been announced as members of WXQR's Artist Propulsion Lab, a brand new initiative that aims to support New York-metropolitan based artists who have been impacted by the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.
In addition to receiving a $15,000 honorarium and a budget of up to $5,000 to work with collaborators and commission new works, the trio will engage in activities including a performance at the Jerome L. Greene Space, on-air host and curation opportunities, an appearance on WNYC's Morning Edition, and more.
In addition to the Junction Trio, founding members of the Artist Propulsion Lab include Jordan Bak, viola; Brandon Patrick George, flute; Kelly Hall-Tompkins, violin; Orion Weiss, piano; and Kara Dugan, Mezzo-Soprano.
